York Adaptor
The York Adaptor is designed as a transition piece between standard precast concrete (PCC) Catch-pit Raising Frames and the lightweight Derby GRP Catch-pit Raising Frame system.
Designed primarily for use by Network Rail maintenance teams, the York adaptor allows a stock of Derby frames to be kept as an alternative to the 4.5x heavier standard concrete item.
When a broken catch-pit frame is discovered on the infrastructure, the broken unit is simply removed and the York adaptor placed atop the uppermost concrete frame.
Lightweight Derby frames can then be used to rebuild the catch-pit to its desired height and the lid re-instated.
Replacement Lid Locking Brackets will be required as the PCC frames use an ‘L’ bracket whilst Derby GRP frames use a ‘Flat’ bracket.
